Feed the Earth Once More...Part 1.
Existential crises are moments that challenge the fabric of society and the depths of human consciousness. We are currently experiencing an extended period of profound change and transformation that has the power to redefine and reshape our lives. As these troubles have become global in nature, affecting both the environment and our cultural norms, it is imperative that we confront the underlying issues that have been festering for quite some time.
The interconnectedness of all things becomes evident in the face of the challenges and changes we are witnessing, signaling a true metamorphosis of the world. There is no simple solution or quick fix to the problems that threaten us as a collective. While it is beneficial to gain clarity on these issues, mere intellectual reflection is insufficient. The enormity of the challenges we face, no matter the views and biases of political affiliation or ideological allegiances, have surpassed the capabilities of our existing institutions. Likewise, the intricate web of cultural woes we encounter is too complex for any politician or governing authority to fully comprehend, let alone address.
The self-interest and short-term thinking are inadequate in tackling global problems and long-term issues. In a very real sense, our world has drifted into a state of apathy and neglect causing us to lose sight of the beauty and wonder, suffering from the loss of the dream of Life. Instead, we are plagued by distressing nightmares that pollute our environment and poison our culture. The erosion of institutions and the rapid pace of change contribute to a collective trauma, leaving the people to become disoriented and disillusioned with the current state of affairs.
The rise of mass-produced culture, widespread materialism, and superficial connections through technology further exacerbate this disconnection from our core values. In a society that has become culturally impoverished, any issue has the potential to polarize the population, divide countries, as society is further driven to despair and disrepair. The fragmentation within the realms of culture have persisted for decades, with serious injustices routinely overlooked and the medias misdirection of majority public attention. In these times, the angers and resentments have bubbled up to the surface, just as steam from a pot of boiling water scalds the skin causing burns, erupting the thin tissue…
We are witnessing the resurgence of repressed fears and traumas, old wounds not tended to. We have strayed far from the origination of life, the original instructions given to us by Mother Earth, and the inherent authenticity of our souls. Leaving us cosmologically disoriented and caught in the upheaval of a fading society amidst its death throes. We find ourselves in a time of overwhelming challenges and seemingly insurmountable tasks. This is not the end of time, for those end times have long since passed, this is rather a pause in the rhythm of history that also presents opportunities to tap into our boundless imagination and reconnect with the essence of the Soul of the World.
When time fractures, a gateway to eternity opens, allowing knowledge and wisdom to be more accessible. These moments of awakening become time lived to its fullest, where we gain a profound understanding of the world and our place within it, altering the very essence of life. However, when people confront significant changes and an uncertain future, fear begins to spread. In an attempt to combat this overwhelming terror, individuals often cling to familiarity and try to exert control.
Yet, history has shown us that shutting down and holding onto what is known does not lead to success. In the midst of such disorientation, one of the few ways to find meaning is by discovering the inner shape, function and style of our own unique souls. Regardless of the threats and disasters that occur during this time in history, our soul remains an endless reservoir and a vital source of healing and renewal when we are in connection to what is arising in the witnessing of our time. When people become entrenched in extremes and opposition escalates unnecessarily, the missing connective energy and unifying presence of the soul is what hinders us from finding meaningful solutions to profound and wide-ranging problems.
This imaginative vision and innovative creation can only be found in the depths of the human soul. Without a change at the soul level, there can be no meaningful change in the society that we have inherited. The human soul has an innate connection to the elements of Life and an intrinsic concern for the existence of the World and Cosmos. A collective loss of soul happens at the hands of intensified hatred and apathy, these unresolved ancient animosities are hungry ghosts that gorge on the food for souls and on the vulnerable souls themselves. As witnesses to the magnitude of contemporary problems and the threats faced by all aspects of culture and nature, now is the crucial moment to awaken the soul that can find the grief and praise of being alive to feed the Earth once more.
